The TV show Harry’s Law is awesome. Its creator, David E. Kelley, writes scripts that are thoughtful, provocative and often painfully honest. In a recent episode Tommy Jefferson, the cocky-but-becoming-more-loveable-each-show lawyer, was coaching Harry about trying to have fun in life with what you do.
“. . .You’re 62, I’m in my fifties. It won’t be long until you’ll be the woman who used to be Harry Korn and I’ll be the guy who used to be Tommy Jefferson. You hear me Harry? We’re not far from our used-to-be years . . .Trust me you do not want to wake up 10 years from now and say my God, why didn’t I savor it some. There’s pressure yes, and stress, but savor the moment because tomorrow we could be yesterday.”
This really moved me. It is both sad and terrifying how truthful this is.
