When is too late, too late?

Years ago as an enthusiastic young adult focused on living life to its fullest, I painted this image.  As primitive as it is, it has been a constant reminder to take advantage of all life’s opportunities.  I don’t want to end up sad and disillusioned when it is too late.

A few decades later I find myself revisiting this, fighting to regain that hunger for life.  Too much has happened in the last several years that has pushed my proverbial cup to half empty from being half full.  Fighting to breach the surface yet take care of the here and now.  No surrender.
